Gas prices in SoCal dip to lowest price in years
Gas prices in the Southland dipped to their lowest levels since February 2011, with prices under $3 a gallon in some places.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- Gas prices in the Southland dipped to their lowest levels since February 2011, with prices under $3 a gallon in some places.

At Berri Brothers in Anaheim, the cost for a regular gallon of gas was $2.99 on Thursday.

AAA says the drop is thanks to an abundance of supply and a decrease in demand. Whatever the reason, drivers couldn't believe how much it cost to fill up.

"Usually it costs me $40, and today it cost me $28. I'm definitely happy," said Byron Boone of Anaheim.

According to AAA, the state's average is $3.35 a gallon. In the L.A.-Long Beach area, the average is $3.38. In Orange County, it's $3.35, in the Inland Empire, $3.33, and in Ventura, the average is $3.35.

AAA says these prices shouldn't only last through the end of the year. They say they could get even cheaper.
