Tips for your summer vacation and travel
With the busy summer vacation season arriving, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency offered tips to alleviate the stress of traveling.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- As part of National Travel and Tourism Week, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency has some tips to make your airport experience smoother this summer.

If you're planning to travel abroad, officials said to be patient and to have travel documents ready. The more prepared and knowledgeable you are about your travels, the better off you'll be.

Global Entry is also recommended. It's a pre-screening membership that speeds up your reentry process, plus gives you TSA pre-check.

Also make use of the new automated passport control kiosks, which help expedite your time in line.

Officials said to be sure to declare everything. That'll help avoid headaches for both you and customs officers.

In the video player above, ABC7's Marc Cota-Robles shows us more tips to ease your travel woes.
