Southern California weather forecast Tuesday

Tuesday temperatures are on the rise in Southern California as the first day of summer approaches later this week.

Just in time for the start of summer, temperatures are heating up in Southern California this week, reaching the 90s in some areas and triple digits in the deserts.

On Tuesday, Los Angeles and Orange counties will see a few morning clouds and a high of 79 degrees, but temps will warm up to the mid-80s starting Wednesday and through the weekend.

The valleys and Inland Empire will see a high of 90 on Tuesday, reaching 96 by Thursday.

Beaches will stay a little cooler, with a few morning clouds on Tuesday along with 3-5 foot surf and a high of 70.

Mountain communities will be sunny and warm, reaching a high of 77 on Tuesday, dropping to 39 overnight.

Deserts will be sunny and hot, hitting 97 on Tuesday and then staying at 104 for several days after that.
