Southern California weather forecast Friday

Mountain communities can expect several inches of snow Friday while other parts of the Southland will see sunny skies.

Cool temperatures will remain across the Southland Friday, with a small chance for snow in the mountains.

Los Angeles and Orange counties will see partly sunny skies with highs in the low 60s and lows in the mid-40s.

The valleys and Inland Empire will also see highs in the low 60s with overnight temperatures dipping into the mid-30s.

Beach communities will have a mostly sunny day with highs in the upper 50s and surf of 1 to 3 feet. Temperatures will dip into the mid-40s overnight.

Mountains areas will stay below freezing with highs in the upper 20s and lows in the teens. There is a 20 percent of snow showers.

Desert areas will be cold and breezy with highs in the high 40s, and overnight lows in the low 30s.
