Long Beach communities prepare for flooding
Much of the rain coming down across Southern California flowed to the coast, which mean potential flooding for some Long Beach communities.

LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Much of the rain coming down across Southern California flowed to the coast, which meant potential flooding for some Long Beach communities.

Drains were cleared and caps were placed on berms to anticipate a possible swell. Long Beach city officials also deployed three swift water rescue teams to monitor the Los Angeles and San Gabriel Rivers in case people viewing the downpour get swept away.

On the peninsula, some residents have sandbags in place. Three fire stations were providing sand to those who need it.
