Porter Ranch brush fire next to 118 Fwy quickly extinguished

PORTER RANCH, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A brush fire reported at Rinaldi Street just off the 118 Freeway in Porter Ranch Friday night was quickly extinguished by firefighters.

Approximately three acres had burned before he fire was declared knocked down in 28 minutes, at about 8:25 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

At least 75 firefighters responded to contain the flames. Firefighters immediately gained the upper hand due to an aggressive attack on the slow-moving flames, the department said.

No injuries were reported. No structures were threatened.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
