ENCINO, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Encino community is coming together to demand justice for a husband and wife who were killed by a home intruder last month.

Dozens gathered Sunday night for a candlelight vigil to mourn the loss of "American Idol" executive Robin Kaye and her husband Thomas Deluca.

"All of us are just... we just can't believe what's gone on. We've lost two beautiful, beautiful souls," said Robin Urdang, Kaye's friend.

Suspect in killings of 'American Idol' exec and husband used couple's gun and called police, DA says

Police say the suspect used the couple's own gun in the murder. The crime sent shock waves through the community.

Residents are still living in fear as break-ins continue in the Encino area.

"Being targeted, day after day after day. They need to protect us, that's the city's job," said Encino Neighborhood Council President Roy Nwaisser.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old arrested for the murders is expected in court later this month.
