3.1 quake hits west of Morongo Valley

MORONGO VALLEY -- A preliminary magnitude 3.1 earthquake hit just west of Morongo Valley Thursday evening.
The quake hit about 2.5 miles west of Morongo Valley at a depth of more than 5 miles at 7:38 p.m.
No damage was immediately reported.
