Toy controversy: Serial killer doll at Toys R' Us

Dexter action figure as featured on Amazon.com

Remember the good ol' days when the most violent toy in your kid's closet was a G.I. Joe? Well, that time appears to have passed.

Toys R' Us is now selling a "Dexter" action figure, based on the serial-killer title character of the hit Showtime television series.

Dexter comes dressed in an apron, bloody gloves, and wields a handsaw. Though Toys R' Us insists that it is not marketed as a children's toy (the box is labeled "18+: Not intended for children" and sits on a high shelf in the collector's aisle), critics argue that such a violent character should not be sold in Toys R' Us to begin with.

Question of the Day: Do you think it's appropriate for Toys R' Us to sell serial killer dolls?
