Chris Brown released from Los Angeles jail

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Singer Chris Brown was released early Monday morning from a Los Angeles County jail after being in custody for nearly three months.

Brown was released around midnight, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

He was arrested in mid-March after being expelled from a court-ordered rehab center. A judge ordered him to stay in jail after admitting he broke probation by getting into a fight outside a Washington, D.C. hotel.

Brown was originally sentenced to a year in jail, but was given credit for nearly eight months spent in jail and rehab and for good behavior while behind bars.

In 2009, Brown gained notoriety for attacking his then-girlfriend pop singer Rihanna.
