Disneyland packed for 24-hour celebration
Disneyland was packed by 6 a.m. Friday with excited park-goers ready to rock their Disney side for a whole 24 hours.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- Disneyland was packed by 6 a.m. Friday with excited park-goers ready to rock their Disney side for a whole 24 hours.

The annual 24-hour party kicks off the summer season for Disney Resorts on the west and east coasts. The "Rock Your Disney Side" event encourages fans to dress up as their favorite Disney character.

Visitors began gathering in Anaheim as early as 7 p.m. Thursday. The celebration kicked off at 6 a.m. with a fireworks display.

Josh Gad, who voices Olaf in "Frozen," attended the festivities and talked about the whirlwind success of the film.

"It's surreal. When you set out to make a movie, you set out to do something that inspires people that obviously has a profound effect on them. But you never set out thinking, 'Oh yeah, this movie will become one of the top 10 highest-grossing movies of all time,'" he said.

The event goes until 6 a.m. Saturday. For more details, visit the Disneyland website.

Disney is the parent company of ABC7.
