Gladys Knight comes to Hollywood Bowl with some 'Dancing' pals

HOLLYWOOD (KABC) -- It's a special weekend for fans of Gladys Knight: The "Empress of Soul" is performing at the Hollywood Bowl. And she's getting a boost from some "Dancing With The Stars" pros.

Gladys Knight has some new "Pips" for her two shows at the Hollywood Bowl: Friends from her days on "Dancing With The Stars" are joining in for a little fun.

"I love these guys. They're part of my family," said Gladys. "The fact that they decided, 'OK, we'll join you here' is really an honor for me."

And for them too.

When Gladys was on "Dancing With The Stars" she learned the ropes from her partner, Tristan MacManus, who was happy to reunite for this special occasion.

"It's like getting the band back together," said Tristan. "Gladys is an unbelievable performer."

Gladys is ready to sing for her fans. She goes gospel in her new album, "Where My Heart Belongs." But no matter what she's singing, she wants you to feel it.

"I hope that they sense that I love and respect them," said Gladys.
