Happy Birthday, Ringo Starr! 75 years of peace and love
Ringo Starr gets by with a little help from his friends and fans to celebrate his 75th birthday.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Ringo Starr is celebrating his 75th birthday. His gift to the world? Peace and love.

Starr is once again inviting people around the world to celebrate with #peaceandlove. At noon, on his 75th birthday, he appeared outside Capitol Records -- Periscoping on his cell phone -- to get the word out. The former Beatle has been happily doing this since 2005.

"Life is good," Starr said. "Life is for the living. The more peace and love and meditation I bring into my life, the better I feel."

Starr was joined by many friends -- some famous, but many others, simply fans.

"The world's a mess," said Joe Walsh of The Eagles. "Violence and intolerance is going to take us down and peace and love and compassion and understanding is the only thing that's going to get us out of it. Neither of us planned on living this long, so every day is a bonus. We are very, very, lucky people and we are very, very grateful people."

Eyewitness News asked Starr what the title of a song about his life would be. He had a simple, but heartfelt answer: "Everything is groovy!"
