Kelly Clarkson announces she's pregnant during Staples Center performance

LOS ANGELES -- It looks like "Miss Independent" is about to have two dependents.

Last night, while performing at Staples Center in Los Angeles, singer Kelly Clarkson announced that she's "totally pregnant."

The singer was in the middle of a song when she stopped and dropped the surprise announcement on her fans.

"That was not planned," she later added as the crowd cheered. "I just didn't want you to think I was crazy or something. Honestly, I'm so hormonal today. Nothing's wrong, everything's great."

This will be the second baby for Clarkson and her husband, talent manager Brandon Blackstock. Their first child, daughter River Rose Blackstock, was born in June 2014.

The Staples Center responded to the news, saying it's pretty sure this is a "first for an artist to announce that she is pregnant during a show from our stage."

Clarkson, who is from Fort Worth, is set to perform at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Sept. 1.
