HONOLULU (KABC) -- The child sex abuse case against Hollywood TV executive Garth Ancier was withdrawn Wednesday by a former aspiring actor and model.

Without explanation, attorneys for Michael Egan filed papers in a federal court in Hawaii Wednesday dismissing the case against Ancier.

The executive's attorney, Louise Ann Fernandez, said they're pleased, and that the suit had no merit to begin with.

"Just as this case imploded when the facts became known, any further legal maneuvers or gimmicks will fail because unsupported statements, falsehoods and character smears have no place in any court," Fernandez said in a statement released on behalf of Ancier.

Egan also voluntarily withdrew a similar suit three weeks ago against TV executive David Neuman, the former president of Disney TV and former chief programming officer at CNN.

Egan's attorneys have not commented on the matter.

The actor has two other cases pending, including one against "X-Men" director Bryan Singer and one against producer-designer Gary Goddard. Both have denied the claims.

Egan, 31, claims he was lured into a sex ring with promises of auditions for acting, modeling and commercial jobs. He says he was abused between the ages of 15 and 17 and was threatened to keep quiet.

Singer and Goddard were also named in a second lawsuit filed by a new accuser last month. They are accused of sexually assaulting a British teen after taking him to a "Superman" premiere and after-party in London.

Both Singer and Goddard denied any wrongdoing in the second case as well.
