COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) -- Firefighters were battling a structure fire at a vacant building in Compton Friday morning.
Crews responded to the structure fire in the 1100 block of E. Rosecrans Avenue shortly after 4 a.m.
Black smoke and stubborn flames were seen through the roof of the building, which apparently used to house a business called Jasper Income Tax.
Neighbors at an apartment building next door were evacuated as a precaution as fire crews got a handle of the blaze, fire officials said.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
