LAS VEGAS (KABC) -- The Los Angeles Kings on Thursday evening honored the victims of the Las Vegas mass shooting, one of whom was a 22-year-old employee of the pro hockey organization.

The Kings players each wore a special sticker - a heart with the initials "CD" inside -- on their helmet as a tribute to Christiana Duarte. Kings staff members also wore a pin that beared her name as the team took on the Philadelphia Flyers at Staples Center.

Duarte, a University of Arizona graduate, was a fan services associate who had started working for the Kings organization earlier this summer. The Redondo Beach resident was in Las Vegas with her family on Sunday night and attended the Route 91 Harvest country music festival with her brother's girlfriend.

Kings President Luc Robitaille released a statement after Duarte was killed in the deadliest shooting in modern U.S. history.

"Our organization is overwhelmed with grief over the loss of our colleague Chrissy. We would like to thank everyone for their outreach, love and support," the statement said. "In just a brief period of time, Chrissy had an immeasurable impact on all of us. We want to make every effort to ensure that everyone knows how special she was and the impact she already had made on so many people. We would also ask that everyone please understand and respect her family's wish for privacy at this difficult time."

The NHL organization said it will donate the proceeds from its Thursday night raffle to a fund for the Las Vegas victims. Kings players will match the donations.
