1 dead in officer-involved shooting following Corona bank robbery, car chase

CHINO, Calif. (KABC) -- A man was killed in an officer-involved shooting following a bank robbery in Corona Wednesday.

At 4 p.m., a robbery occurred at the Independence Bank near 6th and Main streets. The suspect in the robbery led police in a car chase through Chino, authorities said.

The chase ended in an officer-involved shooting near Pine Street and Euclid Avenue, northeast of Highway 71. The suspect was struck and pronounced dead at the scene.

No officers were hurt in the shooting, authorities said.
