17-year-old boy shot, wounded while walking with girlfriend in Oxnard; 3 sought

OXNARD, Calif. (KABC) -- A 17-year-old boy was shot and wounded while walking with his girlfriend Saturday evening in Oxnard, authorities said.

The pair was on Ventura Road near Junewood Way at about 10:40 p.m. when they were approached by three male teens in a white four-door vehicle, according to the Oxnard Police Department.

The shooter inside the car opened fire after words were exchanged, striking the victim several times, a news release said. The female was not injured.

The suspects, each described as being 14-17 years old, fled the scene in the vehicle.

The injured teen was transported to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. His wounds were not life-threatening, authorities said.
