ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (KABC) -- Two Riverside women have been arrested on suspicion of burglarizing homes throughout Orange County while posing as housekeepers.

Detectives say the arrests of 36-year-old Sandra Elizabeth Rojas and 38-year-old Marie Alejandra Rojas came after detectives investigated several cases where cash and jewelry were stolen from residences over the last year.

Investigators obtained evidence at a home in Riverside that connected the two women to several residential burglaries in the south Orange County area. Detectives are trying to determine if the suspects are responsible for similar incidents across Southern California.

Last week, police released surveillance video of two women knocking on several doors in the West Los Angeles area, posing as maids seeking work. If the homes were unoccupied, the women would call over three men who would then ransack the home.

Investigators plan to display stolen items in hopes of identifying additional victims and returning the property to their rightful owners. Authorities say they will release additional information regarding the property display at a later date.

Anyone with information was asked to call the Orange County Sheriff's Department at (949) 425-1901. Anonymous tips can be made to Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS.
