WASCO, Calif. (KABC) -- A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck 22 miles northwest of Bakersfield, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The USGS said the earthquake hit about 4 miles southwest of Wasco, California in Kern County at about 4 p.m.
About 10 minutes later, the USGS reported a 2.6-magnitude earthquake hit nearby, and at about 4:35 p.m., a 2.5-magnitude earthquake also struck in the area.
The USGS originally reported the earthquake as a 4.9 magnitude, but later downgraded it to a 4.8 magnitude.

NYFotography, located on 19th Street in Bakersfield, posted a picture of the damage the earthquake caused at its studio.
ABC7 Facebook and Twitter fans said they felt the earthquake in Ventura, Valencia, Santa Clarita, Chatsworth, Simi Valley and Hollywood.
ABC7 Facebook fan Roxana Barragan-Quinonez said the earthquake shook her home in the Bakersfield area.
"My house shook, it was pretty strong," Quinonez wrote. "I was cooking! Had to stop and realize it was really shaking."
The Los Angeles County Fire Department stated it went into earthquake operations mode and its crews were checking for damage.
