57 Freeway crash: Big rigs burst into flames; 1 killed

SAN DIMAS, Calif. (KABC) -- A fiery crash between two big rigs on the northbound 57 Freeway in San Dimas killed one person and injured a second Saturday morning.

California Highway Patrol officers were notified about the accident at 5:25 a.m. near the 210 Freeway. Multiple explosions were reported, according to CHP.

Northbound lanes of the 57 Freeway were diverted at Covina Boulevard. Southbound lanes were temporarily diverted at Arrow Highway, but were reopened by 7 a.m.
