Most of the world is familiar with Walt Disney's castles, but few know about Disney's first castle. Disney historian Paula Sigman Lowery gave Eyewitness News a rare look inside the house where Disney raised his family from 1932 through 1950. On Oct. 9, artist Trigz was fatally shot just feet from a tattoo parlor in North Hollywood after an altercation with another man. Trigz was a famed tattoo and graffiti artist, actor and model. Friends say he was a father who loved his family. Read the full story.

5. Woman rescued from Thousand Oaks chimney belonging to man she met online

A 28-year-old woman was rescued from a Thousand Oaks chimney after she allegedly tried to break into the home of a man she had met online. The homeowner said he went on a few dates with Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa, but had recently ended the relationship. "I'm going to be a little more cautious of who I invite into my house now," he said. 4. Brutal beating at Ladera Ranch school playground caught on camera

Two teens were arrested for allegedly beating a 16-year-old unconscious at Chaparral Elementary School in Calabasas. The horrific attack was caught on video and shows the teens punching and kicking the victim. At one point, one of the assailants threw what appeared to be a wrestling move. Read the full story.

3. Mother of Fontana twins allegedly abused by nanny speaks out

Eyewitness News got an exclusive interview with the Fontana mother who caught her nanny allegedly assaulting her two 1-year-old twins on camera. San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies arrested Dana Cash on suspicion of child abuse. "I'm angry inside, and I'm hurt and part of me feels guilty because I hired her," the mother said. 2. Tornado touches down in South Los Angeles

South Los Angeles received some wild weather in the form of a tornado in mid-December. Resident Jamie Mena captured incredible footage of the EF0 twister -- the weakest type -- as it spun through the neighborhood, scattering debris and bending trees. Read the full story.

1. 4 Montebello boys rescued; father in custody in San Diego County

Montebello resident Daniel Perez was taken into custody for allegedly kidnapping four of his children following a pursuit and dramatic standoff with police on a San Diego County freeway. El Cajon police spotted Perez's car, which was the subject of an Amber Alert, after his children went missing. Earlier in the week, the body of Perez's wife Erica Perez was found in a trunk of a car parked near a hospital. Read the full story.
