ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- A fire erupted at an Anaheim apartment complex Friday night, damaging several garages and cars.

The fire broke out at about 11:30 p.m. at the Casa Madrid Apartments in the 2300 block of East Ball Road.

Shehara Devendra and her 9-year-old daughter spent Saturday afternoon looking at what's left of the garage they've used for 13 years.

"Somebody just came in, just wanting to break our door down. They said, 'Come on out, come on out, there's fire, there's fire, there's fire!'" said Devendra.

Firefighters put out the blaze in about 30 minutes, but the damage was done.

"We lost everything yesterday, every single thing, our memories, all her stuff," said Devendra.

Investigators say 10 garages were damaged or destroyed by fire or smoke. Four cars in those garages burned.

Charles Baldwin lives across the street. He ran over when he saw flames.

"Looked up and there was just this big plume of smoke over here, and it was glowing, so I took a step out and I started to hear popping out noises," said Baldwin.

The fire burned so hot, it melted the bumpers and taillights of vehicles in the carports across from the garages, including Pam Eisenberg's.

"People who saw their cars being burnt were crying. It was fairly devastating to those of us who couldn't get to our cars," said Eisenberg.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in Friday night's blaze.

The fire department continues to investigate the cause and are not ruling out arson.
