LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Another water main ruptured in East Hollywood early Friday morning mere blocks from a massive break just a day ago.

The latest break was reported at around 1:30 a.m. in the 4300 block of Clinton Street near North Alexandria Avenue. Los Angeles Department of Water and Power water utilities superintendent John Cox said the broken 8-inch cast-iron pipe was first installed in 1934.

An estimated 15-20 customers in the area were without water service, Cox said.

LADWP crews were in the process of making repairs.

This comes at the heels of a massive break Thursday at Vermont Avenue near Melrose Avenue, just about five blocks away from the previous site.

Thursday's break caused severe flooding in the area and left several cars submerged in underground parking structures.
