FONTANA, Calif. (KABC) -- San Bernardino County firefighters responded to a 2-alarm fire at a pallet yard in Fontana early Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The blaze was reported near Sierra and Slover avenues at about 1:30 a.m.
The department sent over 55 firefighters, hand crews and a hand dozer to battle the 2-acre fire, which was visible from the 10 Freeway.
Tracey Martinez, a spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Fire Department, said the weather worked in their favor.
"It's a lot of fuel. Luckily, there's no winds and the temperatures are low. We brought our dozer in fairly quickly," she said.
No evacuations were issued as firefighters kept the blaze from reaching adjacent buildings. It was contained shortly after 4 a.m.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
