Body of fisherman who fell overboard at Irvine Lake found

SILVERADO, Calif. (KABC) -- The body of a 61-year-old man who fell off a pontoon boat while fishing with a friend at Irvine Lake in Silverado Saturday afternoon has been found, the Orange County Sheriff's Department said.

Rescue personnel found the body of Clarence William Brumfield, 61, from Palmdale, late Sunday morning in about 25 feet of water, near where the man was last seen.

The man's friend told rescue personnel that he heard a splash from the back of the boat and saw his friend in the water. He tried to rescue his friend but was unable to pull him back into the boat.

Neither man was wearing a life vest.
