Car fire sparks small brush fire next to 118 Freeway in Porter Ranch area

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A car fire sparked a small brush fire next to the 118 Freeway in the Porter Ranch area on Thursday.

The fire erupted along westbound lanes of the 118 Freeway at Tampa Avenue at about noon, burning about a half-acre of vegetation.

LAFD says 81 firefighters responded to the scene, and the blaze was knocked down in 33 minutes.

No injuries were reported.
