CHATSWORTH, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Two people were killed when a car went over a guardrail on the eastbound 118 Freeway and fell into a concrete riverbed in Chatsworth.
The accident occurred shortly after midnight Sunday at the De Soto off-ramp. The car landed upside down at the bottom of a flood-control channel.
The driver, 44-year-old Diijon Bishop, and a passenger, 50-year-old Gwen Bolden, were killed, but a dog was found alive inside the car and was taken by animal control.
The small dog, with "Harley" on its tag, stayed by the victims until authorities arrived.
The De Soto off-ramp was shut down for several hours. An investigation into the cause of the crash was underway.
