LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A Long Beach family was rocked awake overnight when a car slammed onto their home early Saturday.

The family said they heard a crash around 1:30 a.m. and found a car leaning vertically and upside down on the side of their home.

The crash happened in the 5500 block of Lonna Linda Drive, according to Long Beach police.

The driver, 27-year-old Julio Santana, was found nearby and cited for hit-and-run.

Santana was transported to the hospital for injuries. No one else was hurt in the crash, police said.

Investigators said they were looking into how the car landed in that position.
