Carjacking suspect leads deputies from Riverside County to San Diego
A carjacking suspect was taken into custody Thursday after leading deputies on a pursuit through Riverside and San Diego counties.

SABRE SPRINGS, Calif. (KABC) -- A carjacking suspect was taken into custody Thursday after leading deputies on a pursuit through Riverside and San Diego counties.

Deputies say the high-speed pursuit began in the 25000 block of Crest Peak Court in Menifee around 6:30 p.m. when the suspect pulled a gun on a driver and stole the vehicle.

He led deputies on a chase 55 miles down the southbound 215 and 15 freeways before surrendering just north of Scripps Poway Parkway in San Diego County.

The suspect was pulled from the vehicle. Loose bullets were found in the van.

The suspect's name has not been released.
