Chase suspect killed in officer-involved shooting in Perris
A suspect was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Perris following a police chase Tuesday afternoon.

PERRIS, Calif. (KABC) -- A male suspect was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Perris following a police chase Tuesday afternoon.

The pursuit began in Corona at about 2:30 p.m.

The pursuit ended at Palma Bonita in The Villages of Avalon in the city of Perris, near the intersection of Avalon and Paseo Del Mar at approximately 3 p.m.

The officer who pulled the trigger was not injured.

The suspect drove across fairways at the Eagle Glen Golf Club in Corona on the way to Perris.

Neighbors at the scene say the pursuit ended when a black minivan crashed into the curb.

A body covered by a tarp could be seen on the front lawn at the end of the pursuit.

Details of the shooting were not immediately released. Riverside County Sheriff's Department and Corona Police were on scene investigating.
