HYDE PARK, SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police released new surveillance video pertaining to a deadly hit-and-run crash that left the mother of a Los Angeles Police Department officer dead in Hyde Park last month.

Diane Dupree was killed Oct. 10 near Crenshaw Boulevard and 63rd Street.

The surveillance footage shows the suspect's car, which is believed to be a 1980s or early 1990s model Honda or Toyota.

Authorities say Dupree, 57, was walking along a crosswalk when she was hit. Her son, Officer Dontae Phillips, said this is the first time he's been on the other side of the fence, in which he lost a family member due to, what he called, a heinous crime.

Earlier this month, the Los Angeles City Council gave approval for a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for Dupree's death.

That reward is officially expected to be announced Wednesday at a press conference.

Investigators are having a difficult time tracking down the car and the driver involved in the deadly hit-and-run. They hope the reward will encourage someone who knows something to speak up.

If you have any information about this case, you're urged to contact the LAPD at (877) LAPD-24-7.
