SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (KABC) -- Firefighters battled a 30-acre brush fire in San Juan Capistrano Wednesday.

The Orange County Fire Authority said about 135 firefighters were at the scene on Camino Capistrano between Golden Lantern and the 5 Freeway.

Helicopters could be spotted flying overhead and dropping water on the fire located behind Saddleback Church.

Homes along Baroness Lane, Camino Las Padres and Knob Hill were threatened, but officials said resources were available to protect them.

Crews were making good progress against the slow moving fire, according to officials, and kept the blaze from growing.

The OCFA said no evacuations were ordered and no injuries were reported.
