ARCADIA, Calif. (KABC) -- An elderly couple was robbed by three men during a home invasion in Arcadia on Tuesday

Tuk Chang said he awoke at about 10 p.m. when he heard his wife crying.

He said the couple saw three men in their home located in the 500 block of West Live Oak.

Tuk Chang said the men demanded cash and gold, and pulled the couple out of their bed and kept them on the ground.

"Where is the gold? Where is the money? That's it," Tuk Chang recalled.

The couple's son, Steve Chang, said his father called him first. Steve Chang rushed over from Covina and called 911 on the way.

"When I got here they were just sitting on the couch, just kind of shocked" Steve Chang said.

The couple said the men didn't show any weapons, but took money and jewelry worth about $15,000.

"I think my mom's kind of traumatized," Steve Chang said.

Both suffered minor cuts, but were expected to be OK. Police were still trying to find the three suspect.

"Considering the crime occurred during dark hours," Lt. Colleen Flores with the Arcadia Police Department explained. "We're having detectives canvas the area for any evidence. Maybe they dropped something, looking for cameras from neighbors, from businesses in the area, anything that will help us capture the suspects."

Although many described the neighborhood as safe, authorities said they believed the back door to the home was unlocked.

Steve Chang said the family was installing a security system and he was considering leaving his own dog at the family home.

Anyone with information about the robbery was encouraged to call the Arcadia Police Department at (626) 574-5151.
