LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Getty Museum was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after receiving a threat over the phone, police said.
Museum officials said they received the call around 3 p.m. and called LAPD. They were told to evacuate visitors out of an "abundance of caution."
Officers at the scene were checking the facility and the LAPD bomb squad was notified of the incident. Authorities did not say what kind of threat the museum received.
After all visitors and staff were evacuated, the museum was closed for the rest of the day.
Officials said it would reopen Wednesday and resume business as usual.
