Man shot, killed at East LA restaurant; gunman sought

EAST LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man was shot and killed during an argument at a restaurant in East Los Angeles, sheriff's officials said. The gunman remains on the loose.

The shooting happened in the 6000 block of East Whittier Boulevard around 8 p.m. Sunday. The suspect shot the victim after the two were involved in some sort of argument inside the restaurant, detectives said. It is unclear if shots were fired inside or outside of the establishment.

Several people were inside the restaurant at the time, authorities said.

The suspect fled the restaurant in a black SUV. No other information was immediately available.
