Man 'targeted,' shot to death in front of Woodland Hills home

WOODLAND HILLS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A 37-year-old man was shot to death in front of a home in Woodland Hills early Wednesday morning.

Authorities received a call around midnight regarding multiple shots fired in the 4900 block of Medina Drive. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso along the side of the house.

The man, identified as Hovik Krboyan, had stepped out of the house to pick up food because he had ordered a pizza, authorities said.

As he was waiting on the delivery, police said Krboyan was approached by two to five suspects.

Police believe the suspects may have known Krboyan and stated that the shooting could have resulted from a domestic or business relationship dispute.

"Basically he had a gate that was locked so he had to allow access to the suspects, so he came outside opened the gate and then he was confronted by them," Lt. Mike Kozac with the Los Angeles Police Department explained.

"We don't know anything about the suspect although we do believe that the victim may have known them," Kozac continued. "It appears it may have either been a domestic or business relationship."

The victim's wife and 9-year-old daughter were inside the home at the time of shooting, and police said the suspects did not attempt to enter the residence.

"The victim's wife and daughter did remain inside the residence locked inside," Kozac said. "There were no attempts made to enter the residence and it looks like this incident was directed toward the victim only and not his family or his house."

A neighbor, who did not want to be identified, said she heard at least three loud booms followed by a rapid succession of more booms.

Investigators said Krboyan's home surveillance camera captured the shooting.

A description of the suspects and a possible vehicle were not provided.
