GLENDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- A mountain lion was struck and killed by a car on the 2 Freeway in Glendale on Monday night.
Authorities received a call about a possible dead deer on the southbound 2 Freeway about a mile north of Mountain Street at 8:24 p.m. But when officers arrived on scene, they found a mountain lion in the roadway.
Police believe the large cat was trying to cross the freeway when it was struck by a car.
The Department of Fish and Wildlife responded to the scene at 9:53 p.m. to remove the mountain lion's body.
It's unclear what happened to the driver.
