SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- An ongoing neighbor dispute in Simi Valley ended in a fatal shooting Thursday night.

Around 7 p.m., Simi Valley police officers received a call regarding a shooting in the 2900 block of Deacon Street.

One man lived above the other, and according to residents, the two had ongoing disputes for some time. One argument was over the drainage of a clothes washer.

Authorities said on Wednesday officers responded at least twice because of disputes the two were having.

On Thursday, another argument escalated to a shooting that left one of the men dead.

The suspect was arrested and could face a first-degree murder charge.

Neighbors in the area said these types of incidents do not happen often in their community.
