Nyjah Huston's parties annoying OC neighbors

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (KABC) -- Loud music at night, unruly crowds: That's what residents in a San Juan Capistrano neighborhood say they've been dealing with ever since professional skateboarder Nyjah Huston moved in.

Huston, who earned a gold medal at the X Games in Austin last weekend, is undeniably gifted. Yet some of his neighbors say he's utterly disrespectful.

"It's been crazy, we're picking up trash, beer cans, bottle cans, vodka cans, bottles, just everything, every weekend," neighbor Rob Morey said.

Huston, 19, moved into the $2.7 million home on Hilltop Way nine months ago. Since then, the Orange County Sheriff's Department says deputies have responded to more than 20 calls.

"Generally, most of the calls are for noise complaints, loud parties, loud music, those types of things," Lt. Jeff Hallock of the Orange County Sheriff's Department said.

Neighbors say the parties go all night into the early morning, and attract between 200 to 300 people at a time on a weekend.

"Kids are parking in the driveways, you can't even come in at night," Morey said.

Neighbors have posted street signs to try to deter overnight parking. They've even tried to talk with Huston.

"He just pretty much gives us lip service, everything is "Oh, you know, well the next party we have, I'll have security.' It's just always something. The next party is worse than the party before," Morey said.

Hallock says deputies are working the with the District Attorney's Office to file public nuisance charges in connection to the noise complaints.

"Investigators are in the process of interviewing neighbors, some of the people who have actually called and made these noise complaints, and then we'll shortly be meeting with the District Attorney's Office in an attempt to file charges," Hallock said.

Meanwhile, Morey and his neighbors are desperately looking for some peace and quiet.

"Either comply or maybe he needs to move to a different area where they'll put up with this or further out Ortega Highway, where's he's not going to have that problem," Morey said.

In February, Huston was arrested on charged of suspicion of drug possession. That charge was later dismissed.

Huston is expected to be back in court in a couple weeks for a pre-trial hearing on a separate noise violation infraction, which he has pleaded not guilty to.

Eyewitness News reached out to Huston regarding the excessive amount of noise complaints. He failed to return our calls.
