Action News has learned that missing Philadelphia woman Carlesha Freeland-Gaither has been found alive in Jessup, Maryland.

GERMANTOWN, PHILADELPHIA (KABC) -- The woman who was abducted in the Germantown section of Philadelphia was rescued in Jessup, Maryland, and her abductor has been arrested.

A suspect, identified as 37-year-old Delven Barnes, was taken into custody in Maryland, police announced at a news conference.

The victim, 22-year-old Carlesha Freeland-Gaither, had minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital to be examined.

Freeland-Gaither, a nursing assistant who was originally from Maryland, was abducted on Sunday night. The terrifying video of the young woman being taken against her will garnered national attention.

"The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI have been working tirelessly to try to solve this case," said FBI special agent Ed Hanko. "We were able to identify this individual, identify his car and track it into Maryland."

An FBI task force then surveilled the vehicle. When the suspect and the victim exited a building and approached the car, officers moved in.

The suspect was sought on an outstanding warrant out of Charles City County, Virginia, for attempted capital murder, assault and malicious injury with acid, explosive, or fire in an earlier case, police said. He has both a known Maryland address and a Philadelphia address.

A police source described the suspect as a "predator."

Carlesha's mother Keisha Gaither thanked the Philadelphia police, the FBI, the public, and her family and friends for finding her daughter.

"Thank you so much for having us in your prayers. Thank you for keeping me up," said Keisha Gaither. "Thanking for being there for us. I'm taking my baby home. Thank you. Thank you so much."
