SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- San Bernardino police are looking for a suspect they say shot three people, including a 9-year-old boy, outside a liquor store Friday night.

Travon Lamar Williams, his 9-year-old son also named Travon, and his friend Samaty Mahan, 25, walked into Superior Liquor around 9:15 p.m.

Surveillance photos show the suspect waiting outside the store. He then walked up behind them and opened fire, killing all three, police said.

A memorial of candles and balloons has been growing outside the store as people come by to pay their respects.

"It was senseless," said Samuel Mahan, father of Samaty. "That guy that did that was an animal. It had nothing to do with gang relations. It had nothing to do with nothing."

San Bernardino police say there have been 37 murders in the city this year - compared to just 13 by this time last year.
