Santa Ana barber arrested for lewd acts with minor

SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- A Santa Ana barber is suspected of molesting a 14-year-old customer in the back of his salon in July.

Ruben Olguin, 51, was arrested on Friday around 11 a.m. at the salon where he worked, Salon De Belleza Nuevo Guadalajara in Santa Ana.

Authorities said in July, a 14-year-old victim and his mother went to the salon to get a haircut from Olguin, who had cut the victim's hair several times before.

During this visit, Olguin took the victim to a private location in the back of the salon to wash and shampoo his hair. The suspected molestation is said to have happened in that location while the victim's mother was waiting in the front of the salon.

Olguin is currently being held at Orange County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. Because Olguin's profession gives him access to children and the public, Santa Ana detectives are asking for the public's help to identify any additional victims or witnesses.
