Scammers targeting seniors more than ever

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Scam artists are targeting older people more than ever, and they're making off with huge amounts of money.

A recent survey finds that one in 20 seniors report being exploited.

If you or someone you know has been defrauded, you can report the scam at www.stopfraud.gov/report. It also has plenty of advice on protecting yourself from fraud.

Another resource is the Senate Special Committee on Aging, which has a toll-free fraud hotline: 1-855-303-9470.
