Man stabbed, killed in Koreatown during street fight
A man died Wednesday morning after being stabbed in Koreatown, police said. No arrests have been made.

KOREATOWN, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A suspect has been arrested in a Koreatown stabbing that left a man dead Wednesday.

Miguel Gonzalo Jimenez Jr., 24, of East Los Angeles, was arrested in North Hollywood and booked for murder. His bail was set at $1 million.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. at 3rd Street and Serrano Avenue. When police arrived, they came upon a hysterical woman rendering aid to a man, identified as 32-year-old Luis David Lazcano of Los Angeles.

"The girl was continuously crying, over like 40 minutes-plus," said neighbor Titlee Mahtab, who lives in an apartment building overlooking the street.

Mahtab says her grandmother witnessed a fight between two men.

"By that time, she said she saw two guys fighting and that's the same time the police pulled up, put tape around and had guns pointing to the guys," said Mahtab.

Police say the men got in an altercation in the street, which led to the stabbing. Lazcano was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. They say the woman rendering aid also had to be transported for anxiety.

The circumstances leading up to the fight were not immediately known. Police initially reported the incident as a shooting.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at (213) 382-9470.
