NEW YORK (KABC) -- A 17-year-old Brazilian boy broke the record for fastest time to type a text message using a touch-screen mobile phone.



Marcel Fernandes Filho typed "The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human" in 17 seconds on Nov. 7.



Filho broke the previous Guinness World Record by 1.19 seconds, which he held.



Filho broke the record on a Syntellia Fleksy keyboard in Brooklyn, New York.
