Thieves tied to string of Alhambra break-ins caught on camera

ALHAMBRA, Calif. (KABC) -- Brazen thieves were caught on camera and police say they may be responsible for nearly two dozen Alhambra break-ins in a matter of weeks.

Police said the three suspects have been targeting the northwest neighborhood of the city, and one of the latest home's was hit in the 100 block of S. Meridian Avenue.

"We've had, since April 1, approximately 14 residential burglaries, with 10 of them possibly with these subjects being involved," said Jennifer Wiese of Alhambra police.

Investigators said the three thieves have been breaking into single-family homes in the late afternoon and early evening when no one is home. They've been stealing cash, jewelry and anything that is easy to grab.

Many residents said are worried about the recent burglaries.

"It's a surprise. If I were a burglar, Alhambra is not the first place I would think of to go and rob houses. Obviously, as a resident it's disturbing," said Nick Gedo.

During a recent crime, the suspects disabled the victim's home alarm system, but not before they were caught on camera in the back yard just before the break-in.

The suspects are described as African-American males in their late teens to early 20s, between 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with thin builds. Police said one of them has a distinct goatee.
