BELLFLOWER, Calif. (KABC) -- An Uber driver was stabbed while attempting to pick up passengers in Bellflower early Saturday morning, according to authorities.

Sheriff's deputies said the Uber driver arrived at Flux Bar, located at 17817 Lakewood Blvd., at about 2:15 a.m.

The Uber driver exited the vehicle to open the door for his passengers, which included two males and two females.

Deputies said multiple men came out the bar and began arguing with the passengers, eventually surrounding the vehicle.

The men began attacking the passengers, according to the sheriff's department.

When the Uber driver tried to get back in his vehicle, one of the men attacked him, deputies stated.

Officials said the driver initially believed he had been punched, but he had actually been stabbed.

The Uber driver dropped the passengers off in Long Beach before realizing he had been stabbed and called 911.

Deputies said another man outside the bar was also stabbed while attempting to break up the fight.
