COSTA MESA, Calif. (KABC) -- A van slammed into the side of a building, setting both the vehicle and the structure's wall on fire in Costa Mesa on Saturday.

The accident happened shortly before 9 a.m. at Bear Street and Paularino Avenue.

The van jumped the curb before crashing through a traffic signal box, Edison utility boxes and finally slamming into the side of an apartment complex carport.

The vehicle then caught on fire, which spread onto the wall. It took firefighters about 10 to 15 minutes to put out the flames.

Costa Mesa police initially said two people were transported to an area trauma center but later said no one was injured.

There was no word on what caused the accident.
