MONTCLAIR, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman, her son and an adult male friend have been arrested in the shooting death of a 24-year-old man in Montclair.

Authorities responded to the area of Exeter Avenue and San Bernardino Street at 3:05 a.m. Tuesday and found Joe Cisneros with multiple gunshot wounds. He was declared dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing a red or burgundy sports car leaving the area at a high rate of speed immediately after the shooting. After an investigation, detectives learned that Cisneros' girlfriend, Karen Taylor of Ontario, owned a vehicle matching the description.

Taylor was located at a motel in Ontario with her 17-year-old son and a friend, identified as Larry Oswalt of Desert Hot Springs. The trio admitted that they were at the scene of the shooting, but they denied being involved. When they were brought in to the station to provide a statement, police say they gave conflicting statements.

They eventually confessed going to Cisneros' home to assault him, and during the confrontation, Oswalt shot him several times. The suspects then fled, changed their clothing and hid the weapon. Police have recovered the weapon and other evidence.

Taylor and Oswalt were booked at the West Valley Detention Center for homicide, while the teen was booked at juvenile hall. A motive has not yet been released.
